Avicenna, year 1010

When I entered the laboratory, I realized that Avicenna had fallen asleep. An unpleasant smell was around, and the shelves were full of experiment tools. I tossed my hair back, gathered it from the top, and rolled my sleeves. When I was going to pick up a book and start working, I realized that Avicenna was looking at me with sleepy eyes. He told me to come. I left the book in my hand on the table and went there.

-Sir, what is too important that makes you sleep here?

-Pathogens, those small monsters that kill people.

I instantly opened my notebook and wrote “Pathogens are monsters that kill people”.Apparently, the pathogens bothered him and didn't let him sleep.

-And they can't be seen. Said Avicenna and I noted it immediately.

-If they can’t be seen, how do you think you can beat them?

Avicenna begins crushing herbs inside a pot.

-With medicines!

But how? I haven't understood anything.

-But sir if you can’t see them, how are you going to give medicine to them? This isn’t logical.

-We will not give it to them; we will give it to humans.

Now I understand. I again opened my notebook and wrote” We will give medicine to sick people to cure them”. Avicenna continued to crush herbs.

-Alright, so why do pathogens kill people?

-Me too, I don’t know yet.

I stopped, was there something that Avicenna didn’t know? Maybe I could brainstorm.

-Maybe they want to eat people?

-They are too small to eat people.

-But sir, if they can kill people, they can eat people too. Isn’t it?

-Maybe, who knows?

Yes! He accepted it too. This time I wrote “pathogens kill people to eat them” in my notebook. It seemed like Avicenna took a good process in medicine. And this means that we were going to fight with monsters soon! I looked around, it seemed very bad. It wouldn’t be bad if I tidied up here while Avicenna was working on the medicine.
